RacingDriver 0 #1 February 3, 2010 I will be staying in Florida for two weeks in July. Of course I would like to spend some days jumping. I heard that many Dropzones are slowing down during the summer time. Which Dropzones are still busy during this time? thanks!
skymama 37 #2 February 3, 2010 Deland, Zhills, Sebastian should be busy enough. Palatka will be on the weekends. Some dz's close on some weekdays, so check before you go out. I don't know about the dz's near Miami. Where are you staying? Don't be discouraged if you see rain in the forecast. It is usually just summer storms that roll in and out pretty quickly in the afternoons. Bring plenty of sunscreen and bug spray and be prepared to be HOT! The humidity is going to suck the life out of you...but, have fun! Let me know if you will be in Central FL and want some cold water relief from the heat, there are some great Springs you can go visit. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
GatorNation 0 #3 February 3, 2010 If your going to be in the Miami area, go to Air Adventures in Clewinston.
RacingDriver 0 #4 February 3, 2010 Thanks for the informations! I will stay a couple of days in Orlando to have a look at some parks. then we want to spend some days at the beach and then as mentioned some days at a dropzone. All in total we will be in Florida for two weeks. As we have a rental car, we are pretty flexible. thats why we want to choose the best dz for those days :-)
skymama 37 #5 February 3, 2010 Definitely check out some of the state parks that FL has to offer. The admission is dirt cheap, you can pack a lunch, canoe or float in a tube and swim in 72 degree crystal clear water. Near Orlando, check out Kelly Park in Apopka and also a really cool place called Wekiva Island. Near Deland, check out Blue Springs or DeLeon Springs. They're really a great way to spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the sun, appreciating nature and relaxing. As for beaches, go to the west coast. Sarasota and Clearwater have some of the prettiest beaches around. Oh, and don't forget to go to the tunnel! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
RacingDriver 0 #6 February 3, 2010 sounds good :-) which dz of the mentioned ones would you recommend?
skymama 37 #7 February 3, 2010 Since you'll have a car, I recommend all of them! They all have different pros and cons, but they are all worth visiting. If you go to St. Augustine (recommended), then visit Palatka. When you are in Orlando, visit Deland. If you go to the west coast, visit Z-hills and if you decide to go to the east coast and the Kennedy Space Center (recommended), visit Sebastian. Check out the map, they're really not that far from each other and that kind of trip is very doable in two weeks time. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
