voodew1 0 #4 November 10, 2008 SSM has had a face lift (new buildings) and the fun jumpers get to stay away from the staff - which seems to work well all the egos stay in the new building and the fun jumpers get the old buildings. ASTKU 1 #13 November 11, 2008 Is Capitol closed forever??? Anybody, know?? I just ran into Ken at the tunnel here in Denver and he told me he now jumps in San Marcos. I was sad to hear that Gravity Rats Skydving Center didn't make it..... I heard Temple had an Otter last weekend. They may have it this weekend too. I sure miss jumping at all those places. This is kinda random but I think I talked to you (lisamarie) a year and a half ago about buying your husbands rig or canopy. Just a small world..... Im not current and when I was current and jumped there the landings found me over barbed wire and with although my rig is there for the repack until I get proficient on landings again Im probably gonna be at SM, I think Nathan is picking Temple... Im not sure, I also do not like skyvans that much either. My favorite is the porter and nothing quite like a 182 to make me swoon. Not to say that I wont jump the bigger planes but they dont impress me. In the early stages it did, then I found capital skydiving, and there was something so awe inspiring about my time there, the jumps there... became more about peace and finding that space between the heavens and earth and taking my time to experience it. Since Capital I yearn for that sort of feel, that sort of DZ, and it greatly saddens me they are gone but that doesnt mean I cant try to find it in other places. Also to be honest one of the things I couldnt stand about DZs is the fighting, Capital Im sure had beefs but youd never hear about it there. I hate the my dz is better then your dz crap. They all are great and they all suck for different reasons.
