tombuch 0 #1 November 7, 2002 It's my understanding that the old Sentinel AAD's were removed from service years ago and that service is no longer available. Is that the case? Is it legal to pack a reserve with a Sentinel for use in the United States?Tom Buchanan Instructor Emeritus Comm Pilot MSEL,G Author: JUMP! BodyFlier 0 #2 November 7, 2002 I think it was the 1200s that were removed and the 2000s are airworthy.

Is it legal to pack a reserve with a Sentinel for use in the United States? Just spoke with a master rigger about them and as far as he knows they are still airworthy as long as they are sent in for their yearly maintenance at Paratronics in Texas. Now, caveat, check for yourself about the servicability of the Sentinel. The "12000" is made by FXC. I don't think Sentinel has anything to do with them. Could be wrong. I used to jump with a Sentinel but haven't seen one since about 1996. I remember it was goofy to calibrate but not impossible. Chris Schindler

When I was at Raeford in 2000 there's an older woman there, Jan I think, that jumps accuracy with a Sentinel. I remember her asking for a gear check from Scott Sheck once. He got to that thing and just said "I wouldn't jump that!!" and laughed......
ltdiver 3 #6 November 9, 2002 A little more information on the Sentinel. My student days back in 1996 were with a Wonderhog rig with a Sentinel AAD. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
