Altitude Awareness

Recommended Posts

I did a jump on Saturday with a buddy of mine. We went out head-down, held it, transitioned to a sit and docked twice, at which point my Pro-Track went off. It is set to 4500. Hearing it go off took me by surprised as the skydive felt too short. I didn't look at my altimeter once during the jump. I can't really think of anything more important than altitude awareness. I am a very conservative skydiver. Not only am I always checking my own gear, going over emergency procedure, but I always do it with other people as well. The fact that I lost complete altitude awareness made me take a step back and reanalyze what I am doing right and what I am doing not so right.

I guess what I am trying to say is dont forget to check your altimeter a few times during the dive
