dynamicedge 0 #1 September 8, 2008 I'll be going to Europe (mostly Germany) in 2 weeks to visit the family and it will be my first time going back as a licensed skydiver. So what's the best place to jump? I hear Switzerland jumping is just gorgeous. Also, I may be wrong but I thought I once heard of somewhere in Switzerland with the option of a helicopter jump? Can anybody verify this? I've always wanted to heli-jump. Thanks for any input.
Ralph_W 0 #2 September 8, 2008 It depends on in which part of Germany you will be. From the northern part to Switzerland its quite a ride for some jumps. However there are some very scenic places in Switzerland to jump, including a Helicopter jump. Lets us know where in Germany you will be and someone might be able to point out a good DZ nearby. shropshire 0 #4 September 8, 2008 One of the best places in Europe to jump is Empuriabrava in Northern Spain (especially at this time of year - it's getting cold and wet in the north of Europe) - (.)Y(.) virgin-burner 1 #5 September 8, 2008 i'm jumping in switzerland, and probably at one of the nicest dropzones. i'm sure we can get you hooked up with a chopper-jump. our dzo has a license for whatever aircraft that stands around at the airport.. just to warn you ahead. jumping in europe is not the cheapest of things. fill out your profile! “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. RMK 3 #6 September 9, 2008 I agree with the prior post; Empuriabrava is the best DZ in Europe. Well worth the trip. Flights into either Girona or Peripignan and then less than hour drive from either. Another good spot is Gap-Tallard in southern France www.skydiveempuriabrava.com www.parachutisme-gap.com"Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to attend his classes"
