chuckakers 426 #1 February 12, 2008 Looks like DFW has new DZ on the way. The players are (at least) Ivan Brigman and Jeffery Hawk, according to the company filing. "Skydive 35" is registered to an address on Brigman Road in Ft. Worth. Probably old news if you live up that way. More DZ's goooooooooooooood. mnealtx 0 #2 February 12, 2008 Hopefully they WONT take Skyride, so I've got someplace to get a jump in when I go visit my brother in McKinney...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
GLIDEANGLE 1 #3 February 12, 2008 As I understand it, this is likely going to be the new home of the already existing Eagle Flight Skydiving in Granbury, TX. Last I heard, they were looking at moving to a better site near Hillsboro TX. As a result, this may mean that we gain one and we lose one. However, if the new site is better... that would be great! The choices we make have consequences, for us & for others!

If your brother lives in McKinney, why don't you jump down the road at Skydive Dallas???~Nikki http://www.facebook.com/poe62 Irgity Dirgity
AggieDave 6 #5 February 13, 2008 Its old news down this way too. Jeff bought Eagle Flight Skydiving in Granbury and is moving the DZ to Hillsboro. EF was a great DZ, especially when Wayne ran it, but the airport developed the DZ off the airport. Basically leaving nothing in the way of a landing area suitable for anybody with less then a D license and some experience. Once they get moved I'm going to have to go visit.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Airgump 1 #6 February 13, 2008 I guess you didn't understand the poster, they are looking for a close DZ that DOES NOT TAKE SKYRIDE. The manager there has run that DZ into the ground and the owners (Lee and Carol) have lost touch with their customer base. Last trip I make through that place sucked big time and ended up going down to Spaceland in Houston to finish my vacation at a DZ that appreciates their customers. Dr. Lee being on the USPA board makes the whole SKYRIDE thing even more insane.
WatchYourStep 0 #7 February 13, 2008 Wow the last three trips I've made to Skydive Dallas have been awesome. 10-14 jumps each day. Easy to get with new people, bummer you had a bad experience. AggieDave 6 #8 February 13, 2008 QuoteHowever, if the new site is better... that would be great! Looking at the google maps sat image of the Hillsboro muni airport it looks to be a good site. Especially compared to whats left for landing areas and DZ activities in Granbury.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." It was a greaat place, the talent there, the vibe, the good times I really miss it. Hell I moved back to Dallas in Oct and still have not made it out there. Heck my father took his last breath of air there and it saddens me to see it the way it is. Its a shame Spaceland is a big Skyride fan too.

Yep, looks like a great out-of-the-way place for skydiving, with easy access by Interstate Hwy.
Lindsey 0 #11 February 15, 2008 I agree. Skydive Dallas is a LOT friendlier than it was in years past too. linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. A liberal is just a conservative who's been to jail
