Big landing area

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I'm looking for a DZ that has a bigger landing area than the average, for winter jumping. My home DZ is Skydive Chicago and would feel more comfortable with a bigger landing area until my canopy skills improve.
Also, Is there a site out there that you can get, up to date aerial photos of DZ's?
Thanks for your suggestionsB|

Sorry for any confusion..... I'm looking to travel throughout the winter, in search of warmer locations, with bigger landing areas than the average DZ.
See ya in a minute. Peace out!

Skydive Chicago's is one of the larger landing areas in the Midwest since you can land anywhere you want to down to the end of the runway. How much larger are you looking for?

I think I get what you are looking for after thinking a bit.. are you looking for a DZ where it is warmer in the winter that has a larger landing area? If so you need to narrow the area down some since there are a lot of DZ's out there. FL has Zhills and Lake Wales with large areas plus a few others. Perris has a large student area in Cali as does Spaceland in Houston.
Yesterday is history
And tomorrow is a mystery

I think that Skydive Dallas has a great landing area. Skydive Spaceland has lots of outs as well. As far as landing out off of the grass area, Skydive Arizona has lots of desert. But I can never stand-up my landings when I land out in the dirt.

How about Skydive DeLand in Florida? They have a student landing area AND you can contact Scott Miller and take one of his canopy courses while you are there. The course is $155.00. This INCLUDES five jumps where he videotapes your landings and classroom training. You get the Florida sunshine and an improvement in your canopy skills.

Good luck and be safe
