rendezvous 0 #1 January 3, 2003 Has someone attend one of the Air Speed Tunnel Camps at Skyventure. What do you think about the Basic Camp for honing some RW skills. I have a little over 100 jumps and want to get some good coaching. I live in the New Jersey area.
smooth 0 #2 January 3, 2003 short answer....... Do It !! It's well worth the effort. I have attended one and highly recommend it! This year I'll probably go to one of the NSL tunnel camps though.
rendezvous 0 #3 January 3, 2003 Is it worth the money too. I think it's $1100 isn't it. The other option I was looking at was the Skydive University body flight course. Which one do you think would be more value for money.
PhreeZone 20 #4 January 3, 2003 My girlfriend attended one and it turned her into a great flyer. It took me almost 300 more jumps then her to get to the same RW skill level as she was.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Make an informed decsion based on flight time, instructor ratio, and cost... and above all else have fun in there! BikerBabe 0 #7 January 4, 2003 Yes! Go! I personally like Airspeed's style and curriculum, but I think any of the camps that are offered by different folks are probably well worth the money and time. I think about tunnel money this way: 60 jumps (assuming 60 sec of freefall) at ~$18 per jump is $1080. So basically, you're getting the time-equivalent of 60 jumps, with Airspeed coaching for $20. Total. Of course, your time in the tunnel will teach you more than 60 jumps ever could, even if all 60 were made with Airspeed coaching you. If you take the 300 jump number for equivalent skill development stated above (~$5400 without any coaching), I'd say the $1100 is a fucking steal. Excuse my language. Save the money and go. You'll never regret it. You're basically saving enough money over time to buy a complete new rig. It's just like building a retirement account. You have to look at the long-term cost-benefit analysis.Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
