NewGuy2005 53 #1 July 3, 2007 Going to arrive in Sacramento International on Wednesday, July 25 at 4:30. By time I collect my gear and get a car it will probably be 5:30. I'm assuming the traffic will be pretty bad that time of day. Manifest tells me they jump until sunset, unless it's really slow. I'm hoping to get a jump in on that evening. What's the fastest way to get to Skydance from the airport and avoid traffic?
jacketsdb23 49 #2 July 3, 2007 Have the jet "drop" you off over Skydance . Then you don't have to worry about traffic! Losers make excuses, Winners make it happen God is Good Beer is Great Swoopers are crazy.

DFWAJG 4 #4 July 5, 2007 accoding to google directions, it's only about a 20 minute ride, with 8 miles on I-5 north. it shouldn't be too bad of a drive. the thing is, are there going to be planes up? while the dz is opened to sunset, there aren't always enough people to make the plane fly after work. so, I suggest, you make a post, just prior to the 25th, about who wants to do a sunset load, and if we can carry on the wednesday night barbecue tradition (Doc wants this to continue). then, maybe people will show up. I know I will! I love to jump during the middle of the week.

skybytch 273 #6 July 5, 2007 I5 north from the airport. Exit Road 102 (about 8 miles). Turn left. Stay on Road 102 til you get to Road 29 (about 8 miles). Turn right. Stay on Road 29 til you see the sign for the airport (about 7 miles). Turn left. Skydance is the first set of buildings on the right. Traffic should only be an issue on I5, but watch out for slow farm equipment and packs of bicyclists on 102 or 29.
