wrightskyguy 1 #4 January 31, 2007 Actually, I believe they still jump in Williston, but I don't know for sure. Palatka is a great choice. John Wright World's most beloved skydiver
Snag2 0 #5 January 31, 2007 I live in G'ville and jump out in Palatka. The Falling Gators use Palatka. If you happen to be a student be sure to check out www.skydiveuf.com.
flygrrrl95 0 #6 January 31, 2007 Good to know. I'm looking at a Master's program at UF which would start in the fall. I'm a D license jumper with about 750 jumps. UF has the best program in the country for what I'm looking at, but I wouldn't go if I couldn't skydive. :-) Probably not the best way to make decisions about my career, but you have to have priorities, right? lauraliscious 0 #7 January 31, 2007 Well, there are tons of great DZ's all over Florida, so you should be fine as far as places to jump go. Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091
JGarcia 0 #8 January 31, 2007 Hi Megan... I graduated from UF and was also very heavily involved with UF's skydiving club, the Falling Gators. Skydive Palatka is a GREAT choice, and only 45 mins from UF. It is not only the club's home DZ, but it has an incredible vibe, friendly staff, great facilities, and aircraft support. I now live in Orlando, and forego about 3 DZ's that are closer to me to jump at Skydive Palatka. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more details. Cheers! --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
popsjumper 2 #9 February 1, 2007 You can't go wrong with Palatka...tell Art I said hello when you get there. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
missg8tordivr 0 #10 February 1, 2007 Palatka is a great DZ. It is 45 mins away, but there are several people that come in from Gainesville to jump all the time. There are a variety of disciplines... FF, RW, Birdman, CREW... We mainly like having fun! *** F LORIDA!
flygrrrl95 0 #11 February 1, 2007 If I end up going to the program, I wouldn't be there until this fall. But if I do, I'll definitely go out and jump! Blue Skies, M

iambeav2 0 #13 February 1, 2007 My dad lives in Alachua, but works in Gainesville. I haven't visited him since I've started skydiving (I live in NC and Jump CSS) but I think it's wonderful that if I ever go visit him or move down there to finish college at UF, I'd have a place to go. We're trying to get our college to have a RECOGNIZED jumpclub, ECU Pirates can fly too you know. Just ECU says otherwise...asses....it's not the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone...it's the fact that you don't appreciate what you have until someone appreciates it for you! berchtoldaj 0 #15 February 2, 2007 Art and Jeff are great people. Palatka has a great group of jumpers from the college clubs to the regulars and very friendly atmosphere. I live in Deland, but find myself in Palatka to relax sometimes and make fun jumps.************ Watch out for planters.
