RandomLemming 0 #1 September 10, 2006 Hi all, I'm trying to plan a visit home next year. What is the weather like for Skydiving around Pretoria and Witbank in May? Also, what DZs should I be aiming to visit while I'm out there? I know about wonderboom, but is there anything near Witbank? Any other good DZs within about a 2 hour drive of those areas ? Thanks in advance :)
mik 2 #2 September 10, 2006 Jo'burg skydiving club (based at Carletonville) is very well organised and worth a look. I have been there a few times and the organisers are great at getting visitors onto loads with the minimum of fuss. I can't remember what the weather is like in May though.. - I am sure someone from JSC will provide you with the informaiton you need. *********************************************** I'm NOT totally useless... I can be used as a bad example

RandomLemming 0 #4 September 10, 2006 What's cape town like that time of year ? I've got some family commitments so it's unlikely, but hey, I like road trips :)
Peej 0 #5 September 11, 2006 Well South Africa gets most of its rainfall in our summer but thankfully May is kind of on the edge of Winter so you might be ok. Even if it does storm it's mostly late afternoon stuff that clears up. There are now three turbine DZ's up in JHB at the moment. JSC - The Johannesburg Skydiving Club in Carletoneville www.jsc.co.za - Pilatus Porter PSC - Pretoria Skydiving Club at Wonderboom - King Air Skydive Extreme - Nylstroom _ PAC 750 XL There is also a dz at Witbank, not sure what they are called or what they jump. Also, check out this link from the "Dropzones" button at the yop of the page: http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/Africa/South_Africa/index.html If there's any other help you need just PM me.
