RSG 0 #1 February 28, 2003 Can you jump with a AFF 1st jump alone?(with out another jumpmaster) I heard that in France they require only one jumpmaste? is that true? If you jump from the plane with a AFF student on his first jump and the other jumpmaster could not hold the student , the student is stable and everything is good. What Should you do? pull for the student or just keep the jump as planed?_________________________________________ R S G = Ready Set Goooooooooo
Sebazz1 2 #2 February 28, 2003 It says in the SIM that once a student has demonstrated stability only one jumpmaster is necesary. Kinda hard on a level 1 since they (the student) has not demonstrated stability yet, it being their first jump and all So legaly/technicaly you could do levels 2-7 with one JM. Since I do not know enough about it I will let someone more knowledgable explain but with the AFP program your first jump with your own rig is with only 1 JM. But you must do a couple of tandems before hand...

Student must ~ Arch, reach, pull... No ifs ands or buts...
pilotdave 0 #4 February 28, 2003 I know of at least one DZ (non-USPA) that does AFF1 with only 1 JM. Dave
Hooknswoop 19 #5 February 28, 2003 According the the USPA BSR's Section 2-1-E, 4, b, 1, All students must jump with two USPA ratiing holders untill demonstrating the ability to reliably deploy in the belly-to-earth orientation at the correct altitude without assistance. So technically, one tandem where the student arches and pulls on time, can jump with one AFF Instructor on their next jump. I think this would have to depend on the student and the Instructor. Some program require 3 tandems, then AFF with one Instructor, some 2 tandems. I don't know of a program that only requires one tandem or one AFF jump, then continues with AFF with one Instructor. (Edit: well I guess there is at least one DZ out there that does AFF with one Instructor). Hook
