Hayfield 0 #1 March 11, 2006 Hi all, Was wondering what DZ's people think are the best for newbs/aff training around the north jersey area. Seems to me the nearest places are Xkeys, skydive sussex (Xkeys sister DZ), Skydive Jersey shore, Above the poconos in PA, and skydive the ranch in NY. Are any of these places that much "better" for learining than any other (intensity of training, propensity for low turbulence, general atmosphere, etc)? Any and all opinions are welcome, except those of my xgirlfriend."Remember the First Commandment: Don't Fuck Up!" -Crusty Old Pete
Sled14 0 #2 March 11, 2006 I've been training since level 7 at Xkeys and I like it alot there. Nice and smart instructors. The store they have there is great, has alot of things. Plus they have cafe, beach vollyball, pool (i think), large landing field, biplane, heli, and assortment of planes (skyvan)
Rdy2skydive 0 #3 March 12, 2006 You should also check out Skys The Limit. They used to be in Andover, NJ but moved to East Stroudsburg, PA last year - WWW.Skysthelimit.net (I'm having issues making a clicky - sorry). I live in North Jersey and it's about an hour and 15 min drive. Great facilities including a huge hangar, great instructors and an all around great vibe. And I'm not just saying that because it's my home DZ
johnny1488 1 #4 March 12, 2006 I would try to stick to where you started or pick one and stick there. There is plenty of time to visit all the cold DZs in your area. I trained and jump at The Ranch. Our season is just getting underway. We have excellent instructors (as does most DZs in the area) so pick a name out of a hat!! For reference, The Ranch is probably 40 minutes from the 87/287 split in Mahwah(sp?). Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!"
