DZ's in Oz

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Going to OZ for a Month. Looking for some recommendations on friendly DZ's up the East coast where I can hire kit and fun jump as a licensed skydiver with 25 jumps. Got a couple of friends travelling with me who want to a Tandem aswell. Grateful for any info......

Hey, check out Coral Sea Skydivers based out of Townsville/Ayr. During the week they jump in Townsville-- into a ballfield in the center of town (you won't be able to do this with only 25 jumps, but get your B-license/50 jumps, and you will). On weekends they're about an hour south of Townsville in a town called Ayr. Wide open, great views, awesome peeps. That is if nothing has changed-- I haven't been there since 1999. If Muttley is still running the show, tell him I say hi. :)
Good luck, have a blast and a couple VB's for me!
Blues,
Mel B|

The East Coast is REALLY Long where along the coast will you be Queensland NewSouthWales or Victoria? all 3 staes have good DZs but it depends on where you'll be
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)
My Life ROCKS!
How's yours doing?

Most Aussie DZs don't have a huge amount of rental sports gear. Make sure to ring ahead to make sure something will be available.

The ones I know personally:

Sydney: Sydney Skydivers @ Picton[/url]. Probably the biggest DZ in Australia. Skyvan, Otter, 750XL, Turbine Beaver.
Newcastle/Hunter Valley: NSPC @ Elderslie. Cessna operation and incredibly friendly.
Brisbane: Ramblers @ Toogoolawah. Fun-jumper-oriented DZ with a brace of Caravans. Fun place to hang out and jump.
