diverds 0 #2 February 1, 2006 There are several nice dropzones in Iowa but may I suggest the Des Moines Skydivers in Winterset just south of Des Moines. www.couchfreaks.com They are an awesome group and will make you feel right at home. rehmwa 2 #5 February 1, 2006 I can think of 4 DZs that I'd have been happy to learn at. All are run by good friends. Why don't you call them and compare costs and attitudes? http://www.uspa.org/dz/states/IA.htm AFFI in Boone run by Hashemi (good man, multiple world record holder, has trained tons of college students) {I don't think there's a website unless the university ISU has one - USPA likely has a phone number) Des Moines Skydivers in Winterset www.couchfreaks.com club DZ the "Couchfreaks" what else needs to be said. Great crowd that does everything. Paradise in Vinton http://www.paradise-skydives.com/ run by one of the most decent men I know, Jay Skydive Iowa in Brooklyn www.skydiveia.com , Bruce's DZ they participate in the NSL and have great facilities. I have a lot of fun there I don't think you can go wrong with any of these DZs. But you certainly will notice distinctly different personalities in each that may or may not match with you. These are the only ones I know about. If there are others, sorry I can't point you there also. ... monkeydoodle 0 #7 February 2, 2006 We are just passing through in March. Heading west for some fun. Stopping in Des Moines to visit friends. Some of us are interested in jumping.

Depending on your travel plans, Skydive Iowa is the closest DZ to I-80. About an hour east of Des Moines on I-80.
