Schwib 0 #1 April 25, 2005 I stopped in to Ramblers DZ in Toogoolahwah, Australia, for 10 days in December, after finding sportjumping in New Zealand (my first intention) nearly impossible (1jump/13days) due to weather and lack of sporties. I arrived with 70ish jumps, 10 or so in the previous 3 months and 60 of them 7 years ago. Almost all of my jumps at the time were 1 or 2 jumps a day, monthly, to stay current. The folks at TwoGahLahs helped me in that 10 days to make larger gains confidence and understanding of gear and flying than I ever had before. It was the first time I'd spent days just jumping hard, talking about skydiving and watching endless vids, and I learned more than I ever had in the sport. I got hooked at Toogoolahwah. Since then (January), minus the shite rain we've had in Southern Cali this year (more than bloody Seattle, though we have had a lot of Brits visiting and I'm certain there's a connection!), I've more than doubled my logged jumps and am learning well. So just wanted to offer a huge thanks to the folks at Ramblers for helping me enter realms in the sport that I had avoided before--Roeland for making my lazy arse pack every time (Why do birds sing? Cause they don't have to pack!), to Lito-who-hates-the-mornings for helping me learn to land (I can only hope i entertained) (I still have a few crunchers a week, but a vast improvement), to Belgie and Marlaise for the gear and solid advice, to Pete, Taps, Ryan, Cecelia (oh, golly), Rob and Nicole for the jumps and making it a blast. And it was. Cheers guys! Seeyas at Equinox 2006! Will Slattery San Diego, CA
