Just a reminder that the Old School Weekend and Darlene's benefit auction will be held this Saturday in Byron. Break out your old suits and come on out for what promises to be a great day. There will be load organizing and some other fun things going on during the day, including safety day activities, fly a reserve and your chance (probably your only chance!) to fly Gareth's Taradactyle (it's a triangular shaped canopy that was state-of-the-art in the 70's). We are thinking of some fun swoop competitions as well. There will also be a bake sale with lots of goodies. We are still working on a dinner option but we will try and put something together. After sunset we will setup the projector and throwdown some video from the day. After dinner we will have the benefit auction for Darlene. We will start the auction at around 7:30pm, and the list of auction items has grown substantially. Here are some of the highlights: A day of jumping at Skydance 50% and 100% off certificates from Bomber Freefly A rock climbing adventure with Kathy Alberts A room full of stars from John McKee (www.stargaze.info) A case of wine donated by Shannon Mad John wine Birdman suit Rodeo dives with Mad John, Tall Guy and JP (sold seperately) with video and stills provided by Iwan Wingsuit coaching, rental and video provided by Eddie at West Coast Wingsuit video and stills jump with Bolt video and stills jump with Sean Foley that will include expert picture framing of your favorite shot A day of freefly and/or camera flying coaching from Bob Ash Free helmet from Gravity Gear Iwan Specialty-themed gift baskets (these sound awesome, you'll have to check them out) Emmit The colorful original Tony sit suit, as recently modeled by Higgy Lang Beer from Q Packjobs from Anita Handblowb glassware from Emmit A day of jumping/coaching with Team Jank. Includes up to five jumps with Bob, Ryan, Ted and Sharky with breifing/debreif, packjobs, lunch and a special video produced by Ryan and Bob of the day's jumps A private serenade from Jen (if you don't know you'd better ask someone!) Plus a whole bunch of other stuff that!!!! 100% of proceeds from the auction and all other activities during the day will go to help offset the expenses incurred by Darlene during her recent surgeries. Its a great cause for someone we all love and respect and I hope to see you all out there. Its sounding like there will be a lot of people out for this event, so please be patient and remember that its for a good cause.
