the WPC AE 2004 change from Brasilia to Boituva (SP)

The IPC has decided postively on the CBPq request to change the WPC AE 2004
location from Brasília to Boituva (near Sao Paulo). The dates of the event are
the same, September 13 (arrival day) - 19 (departure day). Entry fee is the same
at USD 275 for competitors and USD 150 for accompanying personell / alternate
athlete.



The decision of the IPC is primarily based on the interest of the competitors
who have trained all year for a WPC and have invested time, money, and
(non-refundable) airfares. The goal of the IPC still is to have a world class
competition. IPC realises that some standards can or will not be met. However,
IPC staff and CBPq on site will do everything to reach the stated goal.



NOTE: all travel arrangements have to be checked. If you do not show at the Sao
Paulo (or Rio) to Brasília section, your return flight will (most likely) be
cancelled completely (being Brasília - Sao Paulo / Rio - home). CBPq and Paulo
Zanella (skyzan@b...) are at this moment contacting VARIG airline to
work on this issue.
