Fast 0 #1 August 4, 2004 Every year for the last few years the DZ that I now call home hosts an anual boogie to raise money for the Camp Heartland Charity. The boogie technically runs from August 16th through August 29th. Most of the events take place on the weekend. For the week of the 16th through the 22nd we will have a CASA Flying exclusively. (We are sending our caravan away) The whole registration fee ($20) goes to camp heartland. It gets you a raffle ticket, lunch, dinner and beer at the evening party. There are lots of raffle prizes (I would give a list but I don't have it) Here is an exerpt from the site that tells a little more: QuoteThe Sky Knights Sport Parachute Club of East Troy, WI hosts an annual benefit in efforts to raise money for Camp Heartland. The world's largest camping and outreach program for kids affected by HIV or AIDS; Camp Heartland provides a summer camp experience for children affected by AIDS. Their year-round outreach programs offer support, hope and joy to the children and their families. Since the first Heartland Boogie hosted in August 2001 Sky Knights has collected over $30,000 for this great cause. All donations are earned through ground school, registration, aerial instruction, and tandem jumps. Various casual competitions, well known skydiving coordinators/organizers and special aircraft help draw other skydivers from around the region to participate in this charitable event. T-shirts, raffle tickets (donated goods for skydivers and non skydivers) are supplemental fundraisers... This year we will be attempting to break both the wisconsin state POPS Record and Womens Records. We will have both Dave Brown and Roger Ponce as LOs. There will be lots a 4-way scramble as well as many other fun dives. Overall, like most places, its a awesome DZ to hang out at, jump, and have a great time. We also have a big landing area for jumpers with less experience who want to come jump a CASA at a more laid back boogie and plenty of outs surrounding the DZ in every direction.
