There was also a rattlesnake that some drunken assclown picked up. A couple cute looking freeflyer chicks, some of the most daring (read as STUPID) beacon climbing I have ever seen. And that was just Saturday night.-- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
 rfarris 2 #6 June 17, 2004 Sorry, (or glad) I missed the Saturday night drunkfest. I was there Sunday hoping to see some of the old gang, but they said you all were either too broke or too hung over to show up. The CASA was way cool. But it moved a little too fast and climbed a tad too high for me though. Got my yearly 6way skydive in. If you guys have not seen the video, or heard the story from the last load of the boogie on Sunday, you need to. Probably the most heroic deed I've witnessed in my lifetime. Thanks to Joe and Julie, and the staff for a great time. That little DZ is still rock'n. cya Rod
 Casie 0 #7 June 17, 2004 Quotesome of the most daring (read as STUPID) beacon climbing I have ever seen. Saw a lot of ppl I hadnt seen in a while. And Props to Tracy for being a hardcore videographer on the last load of the weekend, yes that was "very heroic"! That was a kickass boogie, lots of fun times!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
 rfarris 2 #12 June 22, 2004 Okay Kenny, I'll try to splain the story the way I saw it... The last load of the boogie, we notice the last 5 jumpers exiting the CASA are a little long with the spot. So we hop in our cars and go to where we think they will land. Or, the other version is, we drive to this certain predetermined pond in farmer McNasty's pasture before they even exit the plane. I can't remember... The first guy to land has the video helmet to film the other 4 jumpers' landings. He luckily misses the pond, but slams hard into the ground. He's hurt no doubt. You know how it is when you can tell someone is really hurting, he was hurt. But he gets up, and I mean limps over to get in position to film the pond swooping action. First to swoop was "Robin" the boy wonder. This is the guy who went from his first practice rip cord pull in the static line course, to sit, head down transition freeflying jumps the very next day. Nails the swoop. We didn't expect any less. Then, Casie, the man with with two screen names comes in. Smacks the water like a fat kid doing a belly buster at the YMCA.What was amazing to watch between swoops was how Tracey was in such agonizing, horrific pain, could barely stand, much less walk, stood there like a "super troop" to get the shot. And it wasn't until we all got back to the DZ and watched the video, as Tracey laid in the hanger with ice on his suspected broken ankle, did we realize how much pain he was in. First, the video of his landing from his perspective was scarry. He laid there moaning and groaning, but he knew his buds were depending on him to film their swoops. Cause remember, if it ain't on video, it didn't happen. Tracey is filming every agonizing step he takes to get in position to film the landings. Each step is followed by a moan or groan. The last swooper makes it in, perfectly framed in the video, and Tracey drops to the ground in pain. A sigh of relief. He got the video. Our resident Doc said it was broken, but not sure. They were getting ready to go off and get xrays when I left. (What's the scoop Doc?) Lesson to be learned here: If you're gonna drive out to pick up some non spotting skydivers, take some beer along so you wont get thirsty while you wait for them to jump. You damn skydivers are crazy. cya Rod
 youngin17 0 #13 June 28, 2004 Tracy ended up with three bones out of place which Doc happily popped back in for him. He limped around the next weekend and i think is good to jump now. The last jump of the booge was awesome and the whole boogie rocked. Props to joe and julie and our new swoop videoographer Tracy peace out, boy wonder
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
