jdobleman 0 #1 March 3, 2004 Saturday, April 24th at Bay Area Skydiving (Byron). Pair of Kings has proven harder to do the last couple of years so last year we started doing "Cutaway" speed stars, named after that uplifting skydiving flick. This year we're doing scrambles with low-timers on each team. Probably 3 rounds and all the SCR beer that is earned. It's also Mad John's birthday. Come and Play with us. Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

jdobleman 0 #8 June 21, 2004 The Results: Despite later protest on viewing the videos, and seeing team members breaking the doorplane prior to exit, the Semi- results were: 1st place: G.spot, captained by Gareth Holder, and having the most women and freeflyers 2nd Place: All Sac, captained by Chris De Barr, posting the fastest individual round, and having all guys; 3rd Place: Flockin' Ate, captained by Mad John, and the only team to go from first, to second, to third place all in the same skydive. The Texas hold-em poker tournament was abandoned at 10:30 pm and the 3 remaining players split the pot of $180. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.
vdschoor 0 #9 June 21, 2004 QuoteNeedless to say, a good time was had by all. And thank you very much for organizing yet another fun event Mad John! It was a lot of fun. About the poker contest.. Bon Gustos was calling and we just had to go and drink away the money
mpreil 2 #10 June 21, 2004 We went from 1st to 3rd in 9 seconds. I'd say that was pretty efficient use of our time. Regardless of how it affected the final score, I really don't think they cheated. The rules said the clock starts when the first jumper's head crosses the plane of the door. So it's perfectly legal to hang a guy outside of the plane by his neck as long as his head is inside the aircraft. Next time, you just have the write the rules more carefully. Remember - these are skydivers we're talking about. Thanks again, Mad John. It was all good. Moshe aka "Ground Rush"
