new AOT Boogie info from the boss!

Recommended Posts

Yup, here it is, the latest AOT Boogie info from Todd...man, this is going to be good, even better the last year!

Quote

Let's see, raffle prizes have been rolling in, we had a brief respite from the heat, and I received a contract for the Casa, so we must be getting close to the AOTMB!

September 19-21 is rapidly approaching; remember to get your Early Registration in before September 5 and take advantage of our discounts!

We have set the lift ticket prices at $22, the same as last year. We were hoping to lower them by $1, but the fuel distributors just raised fuel prices. They gave some excuse about a refinery fire and losing money on auto fuel. I guess they're using aviation to make up for it.

Look for an itinerary as the Boogie gets closer. Tentatively, we'll have a "Welcome to Aggieland" party at our house on Thursday, Duddley's on Friday, and a live band on Saturday. We will also have dinner Saturday and we are working on a lunch or two. Smoothie King will be selling smoothies all day Saturday. Relative Workshop will be on hand to show off the latest and greatest and answer all your questions. Bill Newell is planning to attend (and maybe even earning his vSCR!). Big-way organizing by Larry Henderson (and Stan Schrimsher?), and Freefly and Hybrid load organizing by Levin & Ramon should make for some awesome skydives. We have also been told that two jumpers will make their return to skydiving at the boogie (care to hazard a guess???).

We look forward to seeing everyone again. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email.

Discounted Accommodation Information:

Discounted hotel accommodations are available at the Historic La Salle Hotel on South Main in downtown Bryan, less than 10 minutes away from Coulter Field. The AOTMB reserved rate is $45.00 per night (plus tax). To reserve rooms, contact the La Salle Hotel at 979-822-2000 and request the Skydive Aggieland AOTMB special rate. This special rate will only be available for reservations made before September 5, 2003!

Discounted hotel accommodations are also available at the La Quinta Inn on Texas Avenue, just off of University Drive. The AOTMB reserved rate is $49.99 per night (plus tax). To reserve rooms, contact the La Quinta Inn at 979-696-7777 and request the Skydive Aggieland AOTMB special rate. This special rate will also only be available for reservations made before September 5, 2003!

Attachment: Early Registration Form with corrections (If you've already sent yours in, please don't worry about filling out a new form.) Corrections include address: should be 6104, not 1604. We also added a line for renting a locker for the weekend.

Tent space for camping? All kinds of space.

Tent space for packing? We'll have our "circus" tent up, and I'm sure we could find more room for more packing if we need to, although I don't really know that we'd need more room for packing.

Yeah, from my understanding Catfish will be there (does he even have a real name?:P), but I'm not even in CS right now to ask Todd...I'll see if I can get Todd or Kathy to post about this too.B|

The Boogie unofficially started today! Although the CASA is here, one of the pilots had to go on a trip until Thursday night, so SD Houston's Otter came up today and we were jump'n! We're jumping the Otter all day tomorrow as well!

It has officially started!

Everything is set up, the swoop course is going up tomorrow, the party was freak'n rock'n tonight and the Otter jump today was a good start.

If you're not going to make it, you are definately missing out!
