billvon 3,107 #1 December 15, 2002 We made four jumps today, attempting a 328 way. The first jump looked promising, but the second and third got worse and worse. The fourth actually looked a bit better (all but one wacker looked good, but the one bad one was a disaster.) It became clear that people were just running out of energy, so they called it after the last jump. Looks like the 300 way will stand until Thailand in two years. Afterwards some of us San Diegans had dinner at Eva's while the 'official' banquet happened at the Holiday Inn. I caught the tail end of that and said goodbye to some people. Tomorrow we may make some 'fun' jumps (if a pickup 150 way can be called fun) and then it will be time to make the long drive back. So, how long is it going to take you to recover???? Also, I feel very fortunate to have been able to jump with you and one or two other people that participated on it. We added a second otter from Elsinore flying left trail in between me and the farthest left otter. He did great considering we had a lot to learn ourselves all week. But you know, 14 otters is still a shit load of otters! And congratulations to you Bill and all for doing an excellent job in the sky. It makes all the work with the planes worth while. It will be nice to not have 30 people in front of me when I turn to track. Since the outer wackers were generally lighter than I was and could outfloat me during the track, it would sort of rain jumpers all around me after I opened.
