mickandersonII 0 #1 March 3, 2003 Hello everyone. Whoever is familiar with Kurupee Suits, have you heard that their cut is larger than most. What i mean is, relative to other companies, they are cut very large? Anyone own one or can tell me their experiences would be appreciated. Also if you got something other than Baggy, do you have pics? Thanks, Mick
payback462 0 #2 March 3, 2003 i have a kurupee suit, i got the baggy fit and it is realllly baggy (the legs are a little too long too but thats my fault i messed up the measureing) i did a two way two weeks ago with someone who of similar size as me (im 6'1 180lb) in a loose fitting RW suit and as soon as we released grips i floated about 50 feet, no matter how hard i arched i couldnt get down to her. that being said, the suit is GREAT for freefly, i can hold a sit in it much better then i could without it. just make sure you get measured right and pick the right fit for your size. cheneyneel 0 #4 March 3, 2003 I ordered one too guys.. I actually gave bigger measurements because I wasnt sure about the reliability of the company.. I ordered big because I could always make adjustments to it to be smaller than if it was not baggy enough... I am 6'2 235lbs out of the door.. SO what I did first is to shrink it.. It will shrink one good time if you wash it with warm water and dry it on high or medium depending on how much you want it to shrink.. But now it fits perfect for me.. SO try it if it is too big..I know they say preshrunk cotton but it is still cotton and will shrink.. Too big is always easier to fix than too small.. That was my thought when I ordered it.. Plus even if you spend 30$ at a seamstress you still come out over a $100 cheaper than most stock suits.. and you dont have to send it back to South America.. payback462 0 #5 March 3, 2003 i was gonna try that, but wasnt sure if it would work. if it did it would be perfect though do you think the colors would run on my suit with the warm water since it has red black and white on it? i have no idea when it comes to washing things, to me its whites, and everything else
skymama 37 #6 March 3, 2003 Be careful about washing colors in warm water, especially red. The white on your suit will most likely turn to pink! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
psuCory 0 #7 March 3, 2003 Here is a second for the shrink/washing trick. My suit (baggy, cotton as well) shrunk at least 1 inch over the belly, 2 inches over the chest, to a lesser extent but still noticeable in the inseam, arm, and vertically over the torso. So before you take a Kurupee to a seamstress/tailor/etc make sure it is done shrinking! Cory
cheneyneel 0 #8 March 3, 2003 yea guys always wash it first.. Also you really dont need to wash it in warm water for it to shrink.. Cold will work the trick, is really with the drying on high or medium...
psuCory 0 #9 March 3, 2003 FYI: don't dry the suit on high. The leg patch will begin to melt (not badly, just enough to cause a few small puckers).
cheneyneel 0 #10 March 3, 2003 wow!! I guess my dryer sucks!! mine didnt get that hot... But I could afford one now since I saved so much money on my suit..
BoobieCootie 0 #11 March 3, 2003 I ordered mine to have a baggy fit. I also added a couple of extra inches here and there because I figured that I could get it altered (make it smaller)later if I need to. I'm a belly flyer BTWIn all, it was a great looking suit, and the measurements were exactly how I specified. Edit: Added picture of me in my Kurupee
