Demo canopys

Recommended Posts

I have jumped a number of demos from Icarus, precesion,PD, Attair, Big Air.. Most all of the major labels in the US and none of the ones I jumped had shorter brake lines..
If they sent me one with shorter brakes so I couldnt use my front risers I would send it back and refuse to pay and then send me one with correct brakes.. Who's canopy did you jump that gave you one with short brake lines on it??..
It is also easy to extend the lines if you OK it with the manuf demo guys...

I did not jumped any demo canopy. The question was asked cos I did read couple of times here on forums that If you are not satisfied whit demo canopy performance to check the bakes cos sometimes manufacturers(?) put shorter brakes on their demo mains.

Hi Kinaa!

I run the demo program for Performance Designs :)The breaks on our demo canopies are put on the factory mark - as described for each model/size.

Before any demo canopy is sent out, it goes through an inspection at our facility to make sure it's in a good shape and will be a good rep for PD out in the field.
The demo canopies are very well maintained, and quite frequently relined to keep them as close to proper trim as possible.

However, some canopy pilots may choose to let the brakes out even further, to accommodate their style of flying or particular setup - we especially see that with the more experienced pilots that use their front risers.

I can of course just speak for PD, but I can't see why other manufacturers would send their demos with incorrect brake settings either.

I hope that helped - if you need more information about the demo program feel free to contact me at PD -kolla@performancedesigns.com :)
Have a great weekend!

Thanks. :)Actually I did search little more on the forums and found out what I was looking for.
I could not find any particular reason for short brakes (or different than standard) on demo mains, and I was confused whit a fact that that some manufacturers (in this case Atair) put short brakes on their demo canopys. But I found cobaltdan explanation on that.
