skyPrincess2002 0 #1 March 7, 2003 Did anyone catch Good Morning Miami show last night. There was a funny tandem scene at the end of the show. Not sure where the footage came from, but they showed two guys in the plane - the one guy really nervous. Scary - they showed them hooking up standing right at the door of the airplane. They jump out and the tandem instructor was trying to get the guy to apologize for some disagreement at the office before he would Pull. Comment.... is the ground getting closer? CanuckInUSA 0 #2 March 7, 2003 No I didn't see this Good Morning Miami show (of course I don't live in Miami either). But on Nick-at-Night they had on the infamous skydiving Cheers episode. It was good for a few kicks. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
skyPrincess2002 0 #3 March 7, 2003 Good Morning Miami is not a Florida show. It is actually a comedy sitcom on NBC after Will & Grace and Scrubs.
TomAiello 26 #4 March 7, 2003 There was a thread about it in Talkback last night.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

rickfri59 0 #6 March 7, 2003 I happened to catch the Cheers episode last night. I was suprised at the authenticity (sp) of the gear they were wearing. But.... has anyone seen a jump plane with curtains in the windows, or a plane that wasn't packed like a cattle hauler?
Cornholio 0 #7 March 7, 2003 Quotehas anyone seen a jump plane with curtains in the windows, o Yup! The DC-3 in perris last year had mini-curtains over the window. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

rickfri59 0 #10 March 8, 2003 Hmmmm.... I don't get around enough. Guess I'd better crawl back under the 5 foot snowbank in my driveway and keep quiet.
tigra 0 #11 March 9, 2003 Yup, I saw that one- kind of stupid! But did anyone see 24 this week? Keifer Sutherland jumps out of the cessna carrying the bomb, just 4 minutes before impact. Conveniently, George brought him a sport rig, helmut, goggles and a flare (since it was nighttime). Lucky he could gather all the stuff and sneak it onto the plane with such short notice, huh? Here's my question though....He jumps 4 minutes before impact, (crashing the plane and detonating the nuclear bomb in the desert.) Is there ANY way he could have landed far enough away from the blast zone? maura
indyz 1 #12 March 9, 2003 Sure. A Caravan can do 160 mph without too much trouble, which would put the plane and the bomb more than 10 miles from Jack after four minutes. At that point it all depends on the size of the bomb. I can't recall if the size of the bomb was ever mentioned on the TV show. From what I can find on Google, it looks like a megaton or under would be pretty survivable, if he got out the area right away.
