dex 0 #1 March 11, 2003 Here I am in Florida quite exausted (but not too tired to keep going) from jumping my ass off.... Last week I was jumping in Sebastian while attending Skydive University's "the search"... The week started with some overviews of what was going on when during the week and then we went straight into Scott Millers canopy control classes/jumps... As many people know Scott knows his shit. The canopy section of the search covered alot of what new jumpers need to keep their knees above their shins and have fun while doing it... After the canopy jumps were done and the weather was iffy for 1 on 1 coached dives from altitude the SDU crew went straight into many different seminars to make the weather not get everyones spirits down... Pete Allum from Sebastain XL had a magical ability to cause the clouds to part whenever he got well into a seminar. (a skill that came in handy as the weather was not quite optimal) the seminars that were given through the week covered almost every aspect of formation skydiving from center point turns... 4 way communication... exit dynamics... visualzation strategys.. The search participants ranged from people with crisp new A licenses to people who had been jumping for years looking to get to the next level. Everyone I talked to gained a shitload of experience and new ways to practice the skydiving they were interested in. I jumped with Thomas from Sebastain XL for my 1 on 1 dives and had a blast. Some skydivers just radiate skill when you jump with them and he is no exception... Every coach I ran into during the search welcomed me with open arms. The search also included 20 minutes of tunnel time. I, Erik Peterson am now a tunnel addict. turn slide fowards backwards turn slide dock..... got that under control? ok do em all at once.. dizzy dizzy dizzy..... After the coaches and the tunnel time was done with we went on to 4 way... 2 on 2 4way with 2 coaches and 2 'students'... everyone came out with some great video of some solid skydives. Then there were the 3 students one coach jumps... the level of sucess didn't peter out when only one sdu coach was around... I'd recommend SDU coaching 3esp the search to anyone who is looking good solid skydivers who also know how to teach. I'll post some of my videos/pics once I return home... now I'm off to get back in the air...
dreamsville 0 #2 March 11, 2003 I have been on organized jumps with Petey and others, although not part of SDU. Most enjoyable. |I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane.
