nacmacfeegle 0 #1 April 3, 2003 Hey Brits, and anyone who can get radio 4 from their computers... From UK recdot.... "Dolly Shepard: The Edwardian Parachute Queen Mon 7 April 1415-1500 Radio 4 "Rachel Bentham's drama documentary tells the remarkable story of an Edwardian daredevil who became hooked on parachuting from gas-filled balloons. This was an age when the sport was still very new and aeroplanes had not yet flown in Europe. The risks were far from negligible and Shepard was seriously injured while rescuing a fellow parachutist. She eventually gave up after hearing a voice warning her not to parachute (the opposite one I hear). Her 82 year old daughter Molly Sedgewick contributes to the tale and shares her plan to undertake a commemorative jump herself." I'll try and record it then commit to MP3.... I don't have web site so once its compressed I'll be looking for someone to host it if there's enough interest..-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
