D22369 0 #1 April 9, 2003 no way would I buy a rig from e-bay -->just to throw in a ebay success story to point out you may lose out on a bargain..... my girlfriend just bought herself her first rig on ebay, everything was manufactured in 1997 its a dolphin container, raven reserve, triathlon main, cypress equipped. She still has six years left on the cypress. the entire rig is immaculate, no rips, tears, faded spots or stains, the entire rig was advertised as 100 jumps, with one on the reserve. I would be very surprised if it actually had 100 jumps on it, the canopy is bright and new, lines are as white as can be... The reserve needed the line attachment mod done when we got it, but the seller was very very up front about everything, and answered all my questions..including serial numbers of all the components. We paid with(and I would recommend) the escrow service that is offered as a choice on payment methods, you pay the escrow service a fee, ours was around 50$........you send the money to the escrow service, they notify him that they have the money, he ships the rig...... if it isnt what you thought you were buying you ship it back and are guarenteed that you will get your money back......*minus the escrow fee.....which is a small price to pay.......the other payment methods are ok for smaller purchases, but I would not risk our money with them, she now has three jumps on it and loves it, it fits her like it was made for her....I have one on it and it flies nice.....SLOW AS HELL!!!!......but hey....now I have a rig to use for tight demo's *just dont tell her oh yea.....the total price with the escrow service was $1,470 So the deals are out there..... If you decide to go into an ebay transaction, do so with your eyes wide open. not everyone is an honest seller.......... RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it. Rhonda66 0 #2 April 12, 2003 Here's a positive view of EBay from the seller side too - I sold my Falcon 175 on EBay to a guy in CA who bought it for his wife who already had another Falcon. We were both quite happy with the transaction - he got the canopy he wanted and I got what I wanted for it.Rhonda PP ASEL

GeorgeOrwell 0 #4 April 13, 2003 I also bought my first rig on e-bay it was a Mirage G3 mfg nov 01 cypress falcoln 215,pd 193 it had 10 jumps on the container older main but hey I only spent 2500.00 for it all. We used the escrow service and that worked great. I also sold the same rig on e-bay and I had no probs with that.-------------------------------------------------- If your not jumping your not living LEARN TO LIVE (L2L)
