kansasskydiver 0 #1 April 20, 2003 Hey guys and gals I've got a quick question. We're planning a boogie at our DZ in June and are in the process of getting a Turbin. Generally speaking when a DZ gets an aircraft for a boogie there is a cut that the aircraft owners get. ie 1000 to ferry the plane over and then $x per load. The fuel for each load generally comes from the $x per load correct? Or would my DZ pay for the fuel per load + the $x per load to the owner? We're a college club and I haven't been part of organizing a boogie yet, so excuse the ignorance. Blue skies Flash<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! PhreeZone 20 #3 April 21, 2003 I was organizing a boogie this year (it's fallen apart it seems) and the deal the aircraft owner's worked with us was they will send us a plane with a full tank of gas, when it arrived we had to refill it to the same level. The plane owner got X per slot, with a min of X slots on every load and a min fee being charged total. Before the plane left we were to refill the tanks to max and send it on the way. We also worked it out that the plane would never arrive if the weather was looking like a wash so we were'nt stuck paying for gas to look at a plane all weekend.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
gemini 0 #4 April 21, 2003 Phreezone is right on target. When we lease our Otters you pay the ferry cost, and $$ per jumper with a minimum per load and a minimum number of total loads PLUS the fuel while we are there. Of course we try to bring a load of jumpers with us. If you need FF or RW organizing, manifest or loading we'll bring them too! Everyone pays your jump fee for a slot except the organizers. Hope the boogie goes well! Stay safe. Jim Blue skies, Jim
riggerrob 643 #5 April 21, 2003 Basically, your club needs enough money in the bank to "front" the ferry fee and whatever minimums the aircraft owner charges. Price your registration fees and jump tickets so that you have a reasonable chance of breaking even by the end of your boogie. Giving a few load organizers free slots is a good investment, as it will result in the airplane turning more loads per day.
