rtimpany 0 #1 April 19, 2003 Thanks to Mads Larsen and a great company, LARSEN & BRUSGAARD. I recently had a hard opening and riser slap knocked both a Pro-Dytter and Pro-Track out of their clips on my Invertigo X. I sent him a quick note and asked for a better way to secure them (substantial financial loss). Not only did he mentioned improvements, extra rubber bands and straps they have put in the instal kits, but also that he send free replacements!!!!!!!!! I offered to cover 70% of the costs and he said no, what a great customer focused company!!! Thanks again to Mads!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob

nightjumps 1 #3 April 20, 2003 Same thing happened on my Nvertigo. L&B did the same. I'll only buy there dytters as a result. You can't beat that kind of Customer Service. BTW, I put a black zip tie around the whole clip and dytter. Haven't lost it since.
freeatlast 0 #4 April 20, 2003 I must say as well, I had a similar situation, 2 busted protracks in 12 months and they sent me a new one FOC .... This company sets the standards for customer service, I will only use their products ...
Darkzone 0 #5 April 20, 2003 You challenge any UK company to beat L&Bs customer service. Far away is close at hand in images of elsewhere.
weavermc 0 #6 April 20, 2003 I had a PRO-TRACK that had the LCD screen destroyed by a TANDEM Opening and they sent me a free replacement too - I agree with everyone else here - they have AWESOME customer service!
freeflyanvil 0 #7 April 21, 2003 I agree. They are awesome. A friend of mine had a dytter damaged from a riser slap and they replaced it right away. I wont get an audible from anywhere else. skygod7777 0 #8 April 21, 2003 ya, L&B have great customer service. i have seen them replace 2 pro tracks, and 1 pro dytter at my dz from people loosing them, or having the buttons come off (from the riser). unfortunatly, i lost one a while back (a pro track) and didn't realize they did this kind of thing. it was out of a nevertigo, and i called sky systems, and they told me that it wasn't there fault, so i stoped there, didn't even think of calling L&B. even at that, i still will only buy L&B products for a dytter. later
SniperCJ 0 #9 April 21, 2003 Not to be a wet blanket on this party, because I too have had great customer service (several times)from L & B, however... L & B is in the business of SELLING their products, and cannot stay in business unless that happens. Since skydiving is such a small community, L & B's pool of potential new customers is somewhat limited, and therefore they must rely somewhat on repeat customers. That said, if you have an incident where you lose your dytter, through no fault of L & B, consider buying a replacement instead of scamming for a free one. Calling and making an innocent inquiry and having them replace your dytter is one thing. Calling and asking something because you KNOW theyll probably replace it free is taking advantage. Just something to think about. JC
TomAiello 26 #10 April 21, 2003 I just sent my ProTrack back to them for the upgrade.I've never in my life experienced customer service that good. Zenister 0 #11 April 21, 2003 quick question what upgrade? i guess i'll go look at their site, but i was wondering what it was for and how recent it was?____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. TomAiello 26 #12 April 22, 2003 Quote...what upgrade? I had an older model, that wouldn't track BASE and often failed on wingsuit flights. There is a firmware update for those specific jump types. If you're not doing one of them, there's no real point, but since they are pretty much all I do...-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Mixoligist 0 #13 April 22, 2003 I love my pro track too but it always makes these annoying ass beeps when I'm trying to concentrate on the jump................................... Better you than me ..................................
Zenister 0 #14 April 22, 2003 so if your protrack has SLO mode then you probably have the update? do you know a way to check the firmwear version? also i'm wondering if its something that you could conceivable do yourself over the serial link, but i guess that is REALLY a L&B question i'm not there yet, but i will be doing both those in the near future so it sounds like something i want to have..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Iflyme 0 #15 April 22, 2003 That is a good point, SniperCJ. Let's hope they have a good business plan, so they can keep providing the skydiving community with great products.
