trigger 0 #1 April 26, 2003 Having been a member of HPC[Headcorn parachute club ,UK] for 3years,even did my AFF there.I've just been refused membership all because i didn't have my BPA membership[which i purchased 2wks earlier via HPC]on me.Apparently my word that i am in reciept of my BPA members card is not good enough...needless to say i'm embitterred and will not be jumping there again....shame really as i've made some good friends there[will keep in touch, though]Do you think i'm a victim of politics/beaurocracy/bullshit etc..CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER. SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 April 26, 2003 Unfortunate. Here in the USA, we can access everyone's USPA membership info via telephone and online at the group member site. It has certainly prevented many headaches for travelling skydivers who, for whatever reason, were not in possession of their membership cards, etc. Chuck
skycat 0 #3 April 26, 2003 QuoteDo you think i'm a victim of politics/beaurocracy/bullshit etc. Well normally there are more indicator than that, such as money disappearing off your account. Loads that you were manifested for, that suddenly you weren't on anymore, being called a slut in the middle of the packing area by the DZOs wife......Ummmm.......well the list goes on and on. If nothing else like that has happened, then you should have gone to the person who took the BPA paperwork from you to send in and talk to them about it. They might have been able to talk to manifest about letting you jump, or if they forgot to send it in, you would have known about it then rather than waiting weeks for a card that never comes.Fly it like you stole it! brabzzz 0 #4 April 26, 2003 You can check membership on the BPA website - but how many DZ's have internet access??? ...and that wouldn't solve the 'lost paperwork' problem, if that was the case. mickb 0 #7 April 27, 2003 I have always renewed my bpa through the dz (Hib) and its noted on your membership form at the time. did mine when i got back from portugal. called at the dz on a wet and windy sunday. got it in the post tuesday (thanks Hannah)its your money and you can take it where you like. there are a lot of dz's that seem to think its them that are paying skydivers to jump.not the other way round. Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. Michael Pritchard.

riggerrob 643 #10 April 28, 2003 Loud public criticism often tells you more about the critic than the target. How many guys did the DZO's wife sleep with?
