it depends on your fall rate of course...

in my experience it takes a bit of fine tuning and practice.

i recommend finding someone who has one that works, jump with it a bunch to dial everything in, and then weigh it and copy the weight.

if you're just starting and can't find anyone with one that works, PM me and I'll tell you what worked for mine.

Good luck,

cp

Shouldn't that be: "If at first you do not succeed, skydiving wasn't for you?" :D
The trouble with skydiving; If you stink at it and continue to jump, you'll die. If you're good at it and continue to jump, you'll see a lot of friends die...

prolly want to be careful where you jump with one when you make it and test it.

i've been hearing rumors that skyball jumps may soon require a license (license to jump with a skyball).....sucks i know but so you are aware....

....but then again, we're supposed to have a license to do demos and most D jumpers do and don't have one....

I don't know about a skyball license, although I believe SD Arizona banned them for a time. Thereafter, they may screen who will be allowed to lead a ball jump, and they have a specific area off to one uninhabited corner of the DZ where they will allow you to exit with the ball. Liability and risk to those on the ground is just too great if it's not done carefully.

I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane.

Well, they're going to have vastly differing fallrates. Freefly seem to run at around 600grams - sorry - no idea what that is in imperial. Have you considered a Vladiball? do a search.
It's the year of the Pig.
