Newbie 0 #1 May 13, 2003 Im guessing its like a person you can go up to and say "hi i have 50 jumps in such and such and i want to do this sort of thing" and (s)he partners you up with 1 or 2 or 15 others for the load, who want to do the same sort of dive? Also when you see "free load organising" advertised at boogies etc, does that mean you get load organising at places that you have to pay for? AggieDave 6 #2 May 13, 2003 You're half right. They also try to organize dives with you on it that will challenge your ability, but not be so far out of reach that you can't do it. They job is to challenge everyone on the dive, but make a dive that works and completes (if eveyone flies right). So good LO's are great to have around, especially with a mixed experience group, since they can try to make sure everyone has a good time, safely.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Ron 10 #3 May 13, 2003 A LO is a person that puts together all the people who are not jumping with others and tries to build a fun, challenging, successful skydive. The LO takes the experience of the people and puts them in a slot that will ensure the success of the group, while keeping it challenging and fun. Some places you have to pay a LO to jump with them, other places they are paid by the DZ. At some boogies they have free LO's, but you pay a registration fee. LO's rock.
