miniFly 0 #1 June 2, 2003 When purchasing used gear, How do you find out if the gear has been stolen if you have the serial number? Do companies keep a record of reports?

miniFly 0 #4 June 4, 2003 Thank you very much for the advice, it would be cool if there was a website where you could just enter the serial number of the rig and find out the info. hint, hint
Michele 1 #5 June 4, 2003 Quotehint, hint [Wink] DZ.com has a section for this. It is dependent, however, on folks who've lost or had gear stolen to get the serial numbers into it... There's a field where you can search SNs. If you know a part of the number only, that should work as well. Some people don't know their SNs so you may just want to search for keywords (also in the left margin) as well. Search for "javelin" etc, depending on what you plan to buy and see what it brings up.
