Horney Gorrila

Recommended Posts

Hmmmm, If I remember right the proper procedure is to do it going through 3 grand.;) It never failed in the 80's that someone would through a horney gorilla on the end of a RW sequence. Invariably they would end up trying it at breakoff. Of course the more popular chest mount reserve would read high in the burble and they'd smoke it low. (I never did this, or course;))

Jumpers in a star, on cue, swing one leg, then both to the middle. They lock legs together and lay back, usually droping wrist grips. So you end up with 3 to 8 jumpers with their feet interlocked kind of sitting / on their backs. They'd usually spin. Often we'd plan a four or six way dive with 3 or 4 points and say if we get through it we'd do a horny gorilla. That's why they often ended up low.

Remember this was before freeflying. Some people were playing with freak flying ala Roger and Carl Nelson. This was more on your back (and usually barefootB|) than sit flying.

also try it with folks with about the same fall rate. Last time I tried it, it was me, Pablito, and AggieDave, after we put our legs together, AggieDave immediately sunk below us and the formation flipped over and we scattered. Loads of fun nevertheless.

don't know what kind of plane you are taking it from or how many of you were in it but I have had most success with them by taking them right off of the plane.

Thats what I would say.. the most common at my dz is to do it right off exit with 4 people and try to get the "badmitten birdie" effect with your bodies... drive towards the center and it will make it a little easier.

Horney gorilla...nice and easy with a 2 way. exit as a star. then bring your legs together with your bud and cross them over. Lean back into a sit with both arms outstretched. Once its good bring opposite arms in across your chest and you will start to spin and see how long you can hold it before you fly apart.
Good fun way to start a dive.

Cross your legs, and both grab each others left hand (so you can see your alti in front of you) and one sticks his right hand out to the side and the other one sticks it out back...

It will start spinning in ways you can't imagine. Over the top, sideways, you name it.
And because your holding hands in the midle, it won't fly appart too quickly :)

Jumping out, and just doing a 'horny dog' on your buddy's leg is also fun. Just grab ahold of his leg with all fours and hold on, while he or she tries to sitfly. It will definately go to hell :)
