BobB 0 #1 July 13, 2003 Hi all. Newcomer to the sport here (and the forums, obviously). I did my AFF CAT-A and CAT-B today. I thought it might be a good idea to log my jumps on my webpage. I'm thinking it might help me due to the fact that updating the page with recent jumps will require me to accurately recall what happened/how I felt/etc (as opposed to just thinking "that was an okay jump"). It might be a good way to let my family see my progress, too -- once I tell them about what I'm doing . I could just keep notes in my jump log or in a notebook but I always seem to be losing things (um...anybody seen my mind?). The relative permanence of the web-based logbook would seem to help there. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Tried it? Any info I'm leaving out on the page that may help me in the future? Thanks for any thoughts. http://home.nc.rr.com/rboyle Blue skies... b1jercat 0 #2 July 13, 2003 Blog On, If you do a search of the forums you'll find several logs out there, one that even mirror's my own experiences somewhat. "Lets try again." blue skies jerry
Luna 0 #3 July 13, 2003 Just want to clarify that you will be logging them online in addition to in your logbook and not instead of. If so, that's a great idea. If not, re-consider. You have to have a logbook with signatures on every jump to get your licenses and ratings in the future. I don't think this is what you were talking about, just wanted to be clear! Good luck! andy2 0 #4 July 13, 2003 that sounds like an excellent idea. Anything that will get you thinking about the positives and negatives of your jumps and make you correct/polish up skills is worth it. I say blog away! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
QuickDraw 0 #5 July 13, 2003 Hi Bob, i have been using a free trial one (30 days) and not much seems to change when the trial period runs out. I don't think you can beat a real log-book but this is more for my peace of mind than anything else, if its ever lost i can recall almost every word in it. Feel free to critisize or question anything you read. http://quickdraw.qlogger.com/ -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
BobB 0 #6 July 13, 2003 Thanks for the input. Yes, the web thing is solely in addition to my comprehensive paper logbook. Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.
