Richmond "The Boogie"

I'm sure there is a thread for this somewhere on this site already, I just couldn't find it, so...sorry mods.

Anywho, I am very new to this sport (I make my first jump this Saturday...so yeah...REALLY new). Anyway, I go to college at Ball State University, which is about 20 minutes from Richmond. The DZ in Richmond has this festival every labor day weekend called "The Boogie". They claim it is the 2nd largest skydiving festival in the world every year. Does anyone know if this is true? I want to know if it's worth my time before I decide to pop into this festival to see what it's all about. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hopefully I'll still be alive on Sunday to tell ya how my jump went. ;) jk...thanks again.

if you have never been there go.. it is the best time I have ever had.. been the past 4 years ..usually about 1500+ jumpers all week with last year having 2 super otters 2 caravans (I think) mike mullins king air, hurculese c-130, along with plenty of other fun stuff to do... go to the website www.skydiverichmond.com to read more about it..

Yes, it's awesome. Get your license before. and gear if you can. had more than 1000 people there last year, great skydives, lots of fun!

The Richmond Boogie rocks. You should go -- even if you can't do student jumps there, there's a lot to see and learn. And the parties are awesome too.
