Demian 0 #1 July 24, 2003 I was just wondering if anyone one who wears a Closing-Pin Necklace has ever worn it through Airport Security, and what the outcome was... I just flew to Vegas this past weekend, and at the last minute decided to leave my necklace behind after my wife suggested that they might consider it a sharp object. Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?
kevin922 0 #2 July 24, 2003 uh no problems whatsoever. I don't think it even sets off the metal detector.
Zenister 0 #3 July 24, 2003 no issues at all..it wont set off the walk thru, but the wands will pick it up.. if they are ever giving anyone issues over something like this the world is coming to an end...you could do more harm with a ball point pen or a broken CD...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. jjiimmyyt 0 #6 July 24, 2003 I think the necklaces are about as dangerous as crosses that many, many people wear. Imagine if people were made to remove their crosses before flying! Maybe you could use the 'cross' argument if it did occur. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
sunshine 2 #7 July 24, 2003 Never even thought about it when going through security. Nobody else seemed to notice it or have a problem with it. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #8 July 24, 2003 I set off the alarm on my international flight recently. I took off everything that I could, including my shoes. A female security guard even had to frisk me and kept looking towards my neck and upper body area to see what it could be. We concluded that it was the underwire on my bra. (She even cupped and pulled the bra away from my breasts to make sure.) They didn't even look at my bags, just ME as I set off the alarm. Later, I realized that I was wearing my closing pin necklace under my turtleneck (the thickness of the fabric fold concealed it). I still don't know what was to blame. This was my second time setting off the alarm and being frisked in that way. Could it be the metal plate in my head? LOL! No, seriously, has anyone else had this problem, and what set off the alarm? VanillaSkyGirl 6 #11 July 25, 2003 Geez! Why did I set off the alarm? Edited to add: Maybe it was just the wand, then! It seems like I am the only one that has had problems.
