Obviously translated from Russian into English and none too well at that, but probably better than I could translate this sentance into Russian, so . . . let's cut them some slack. ;)

In a feat probably more challenging than what Felix is up to . . .

Russian parachutists prepare to land on a highest mountain peak

Nine Russian sportsmen, parachutists, are preparing to make a unique jump on one of the highest peaks in the world - the Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan whose height is more than seven kilometres. The sportsmen have already arrived in the adaptation camp which is situated at the height of 6,000 metres not far from the Lenin Peak and are waiting for a good weather. They plan to jump from an Il-76 plane.

The team is headed by well known Moscow parachutist and stuntman Dmitry Kiselev who has already made more than 3,500 jumps. The team have been specially trained in the Cosmonaut Training Centre in the Stellar Town in the Moscow region.

This action has been organised under the patronage of the Kyrgyz State Committee for Tourism and Sport.

After the jump, the parachutists will be evacuated from the peak by Russian and Kyrgyz mountain climbers.

Earlier, many attempts were made by parachutists to land on the Lenin Peak, but all of them were unsuccessful.
