SkydiveNFlorida 0 #1 July 29, 2003 I got my girlfriend to do a tandem... she loved it, but she isn't wanting to do it again.:( I have a co-worker who did a static line a long while back (at about 3000ft), and he showed interest when I told him about my jumps, so I told him all about AFF and invited him up with me. He is gonna do AFF1, we set a date for Aug 23 (he has a boating thing this wknd, then his parents will be here the next, i'll be in RI the following, so the 23rd is the next time we'll both be avail). My enthusiasm got two people from the coral reef forums excited about it, too. One was a skydiver for quite sometime, but had given it up for a while, ... but he's now getting back into it full force like he's wanted to do for so long. The other just successfully completed his first AFF dive! He'd always wanted to dive, but my excitement made him even more excited! This is so cool!! Ok, i'm done braggin:D j/k haha. I'm truly happy that my enthusiasm has had such an impact on these peoples lives. That rocks! I bet this happens to you guys all of the time, you start talking about it to people, and all of a sudden you see 'em in the sky! So many people want to do it, but just never get around to it. For me, I always wanted to do it, but then found a reason to start cuz my bf at the time wanted to, and it was his b-day, .. so I was gonna take him. We broke up, and I said screw it, i'm gonna go. Everything happens for a reason, guess my meeting him was a skydiving stepping stone! :D Angela.

tbrown 26 #3 July 30, 2003 I started up a club at my college and we'd just drive cars filled with eager students up to the DZ for static line classes (this was the seventies). A few of them stuck it out to freefall status. Then there was this guy I worked with long ago. I finally got him to give it a try and he totally went for it. I got married and got out of the sport for a very long time, but finally came back this year. Hadn't seen my friend in over twenty years, but tracked him down and he's still jumping, has over 3000 dives ! About a month ago we got together for the first time in way too many years and actually made our first jumps together. It was huge fun. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! Unstable 9 #8 July 30, 2003 Thats what i need to get my ass of the couch and go do. Everybody asks about Skydiving - they know i'm a skydiver. But in a University Environment, nobody has the Money to go give it a try. = ( I actually hinted to my CalcIII teacher that i could get him up in the air for "next to nothing." He didn't go for it - says his GF won't let him. =========Shaun ==========
champu 1 #9 July 30, 2003 My friend and I are looking to ramp up our university's skydiving club and really provide encouragement to those with interest to follow through all the way and become skydivers. As practice I brought a co-intern out to make his first tandom sunday and gave him the contact info for a few dropzones near his home where he really wants to start AFF. Next weekend I'm bringing his roommate out who had expressed interest in it, and now he and I are teaming up on him So now I'm feeling all cool and groovy I get an e-mail from my friend back at school telling me she brought out 6 tandoms with her this last weekend, DOH! I guess I'll leave the recruiting up to her, I can just be eye candy.

surf4life11 0 #12 July 31, 2003 I got 9 people lined up this weekend for tandems and hopefully 2 or 3 of them will move on to become students or maybe even more. Keep on recruiting and we have more people to play in the air with. Blue skies everybody!
