Newbie 0 #3 August 1, 2003 Quotea what? its just a velcro cover (almost like a beer holder, but not quite as fun) that goes around the reserve handle to prevent it being pulled. I saw a Javelin one recently, but want one to prevent issues while the rig is in transit, particularly when im walking around with it on my back as i don't have a rig bag. andy2 0 #4 August 1, 2003 why dont you make one instead of spending 10 or 15 bucks on one? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
Hooknswoop 19 #5 August 1, 2003 Quade has a great method of securing the reserve handle, wrap your chest strap through the handle and then through the buckle. This secures the handle and prevents you from jumping the rig with the reserve handle secured, which has happened. mr2mk1g 10 #7 August 1, 2003 Just remember to take it off on arrival !! There was a posting a couple of months ago about some guy realising after his jump that it was still tied on.

champu 1 #9 August 2, 2003 I just make sure if I'm going to use a pullup cord to secure my handle while transporting my rig, that I use one of some horrendously obnoxious color... looking at quade's "choke the whole thing with your chest-strap" method I might consider that, although if you do that you can't carry the rig over your shoulder
Hooknswoop 19 #10 August 2, 2003 Depending on which side the chest strap is on, you could tie it around the handle several times and tie it in a knot and till wear the rig over your shoulder. Derek
deaffreeflyer 0 #11 August 3, 2003 Yeah that's what I thought. I think I was there with Newbie when someone put it on and showed other people what is it for. QuoteNewbie - Is that what you're talking about?

See: Chest Strap for Travel Derek yeah thats what i normally do when im moving the rig in my wheelie suitcase thing to and fro the dz, but when i go away i will have to wear it like a backpack due to luggage considerations and lack of rig bag. I will just have to play around and see if i can use the chest strap to tie it off and still sling it over my shoulders, but yeah, at least it will save me £15 and the unbelievable-but-still-potentially-possible issue of jumping with my handle tied off "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts
