mccordia 74 #26 August 8, 2003 to quote a famous movie "This is not a life.....who would choose this!???" But seriously, skydiving made my life make a complete 180. Basicly every point in the above posts...JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
Casch 0 #27 August 8, 2003 Quote"This is not a life.....who would choose this!???" I think I'm gonna have to watch that movie now. Again...for the 1000th time. After I started skydiving, I became a different person. In computer lingo, I have been formatted, I have a new OS. I don't stress over things anymore. I'm more open to new situations and I'm not afraid to take risks (note; I mitigate risks in skydiving, I'm talking about non lethal risks). I don't know how else to say it other than I am not the same person I used to be. I kicked the other guy out and now you're all stuck with ME!!! MUAHHAHAHA....ahem...yeah
TrickyDicky 0 #28 August 8, 2003 Who does have money. But Its accepts as I am a uni student. What I really dont understand are my wuffo friends who complain about having no money, but their parents pay both rent and fees. Granted my parents pay my uni fees but I pay all my rent (about £2400 a year!!!!!!. Now that could be better spent) and I still managed about 100 jumps this year. But I am now in over £8000 of debt, with 2 years of uni left and less "free money" will become available to me (mr tax man overpaid me a tax refund by about £650 Ill just have to pack more and get more first timers through. More first timers = more subsidised jumping for club members. Yay. UK Skydiver for all your UK skydiving needs.
StevePhelps 0 #29 August 8, 2003 I've never done anything halfway. Joined the Army and went SF, took up running and ran the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon, rock climbed at a wall in REI then built one in my garage and climbed with guys who climbed El Cap. Played golf and plotted how I could build my own three hole course. But all those other hobbies passed away over time. Skydiving is the one obsession that seems like it will stick. vonSanta 0 #30 August 8, 2003 Phew. I thought I had a sick obsession with it, and I am still a newbie. Either all of us have a sick obsession or none of us has that. If the former is true, I couldn't be in better company. All i want to do relates to skydiving. All I want to talk about is skydiving. It takes a conscious effort me not to talk about skydiving given the slightest chance. 'And then the wind took hold of her skirt' 'Oh yeah. Well, if she'd carrying her chute, she'd. Heh, but they're whuffos. So f-ing what :D Santa Von GrossenArsch I only come in one flavour ohwaitthatcanbemisunderst
Mad47 0 #31 August 8, 2003 The more I get to know skydivers the more I realize that we all not only have the same passion to the sport, but also share similar life philosophy. It is really amazing to read this forum and agree with most of you folks say with every turn of page.
suz 0 #32 August 9, 2003 Skydiving has certainly changed my life. Apart from feeling like a rockstar whenever you mention that your a skydiver to whuffo's ....**goes off into a dreamstate...** What was I saying again??? Oh yeah... Just my entire outlook on life has changed. If I want something, I dont sit on my sweet arse now and dream about having it. I go out there and I try my hardest to get it. I've also found myself alot calmer then I used to be. I dont road rage as much anymore, I dont cry whenever I spill the milk...I dont apologise if I fart in the elevator...not that I do! Apart from being absolutely broke. I'm always planning my next mission to get thee to the dz! Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after
