Ed Trick, 41, is being held on $125,000 bail in the Sonoma County Jail. Trick is well-known in skydiving circles for base jumping, including his leap off the world's tallest building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2000. Base jumping refers to skydiving off fixed objects such as bridges, skyscrapers, cliffs and communications towers. He was arrested in February following a police investigation into break-ins and thefts at the Petaluma airport. Police said Trick, who was renting an apartment at the airport, set up a secret video camera inside a women's restroom. A woman discovered the device and alerted authorities, who said they discovered Trick had drilled holes between his apartment and the restroom. Police said they also found evidence he had burglarized several businesses at the airport. While he was free on bail last May, Trick burglarized a Petaluma home and fled to Mesa, Ariz., police said. He was arrested there May 17 after he tried to sell a car stolen from the Petaluma home. Trick pleaded no contest to a charge of burglary Friday and he will be sentenced Sept. 19. -- Steve Hart quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
AggieDave 6 #2 August 21, 2003 How does any of that relate back to him being a skydiver/BASE jumper? He stole some stuff and installed a camera, no skydiving involved...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." quade 4 #4 August 21, 2003 I can't find it right now, but something way, way back in my brain says that the Petaluma Airport thefts had something to do with skydiving equipment. I -might- be wrong, but that's the way I remember it.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
