Are there "New" Big way organizers?

I love doing and going to big ways. I'll be the first to say I don't know the long term history of big ways having only started doing them (+100) three years ago.

But it -seems- that there are more people organizing them now. Guy Wright, Boxman, Rob Laidlow. Sure you've got Kate Cooper and Roger Pounce along with many other established names doing them but for the most part they seem to have there group in there on part of the country.

From you old timers: Is the number of good big way organizers going up or does it stay about the same?

It seems that big ways are "In" right now.

I seem to remember these guys doing big way organizing for some time now.

I think because of being able to get the use of larger aircraft easier, you are seeing more and more big way events being offered. Think about it, years and years ago, most DZs had small planes and it was impossible to do "big ways".

..but I will never forget where the "skills" came from- flying cessna formations for "big ways"
(c-206, c-182, c-180) before my d.z. purchased their porter and had both porter and otter flying at boogies with Roger Ponce (color concepts)
Talk about a dive slot in cessna formation...from chase plane, and floating slots... base from c-206 rocked!
Ya just cannot compare!!
