sasteam 0 #1 September 9, 2003 Anyone have any idea why aerial photos of the DZ aren't more comon on DZ websites? I've always thought it would be useful to get an overhead visual familiarization with a new DZ from the web before visiting. Compass heading, scale, and obstacles could be marked. Is it thought, perhaps, that it's just better to check out the DZ when one arrives? Some other reason or just a common oversight? (Perhaps not the right forum for this question. Thought of Safety & Training, Places To Jump, and Photography & Video forums but decided on this one.)Crazy Ivan and the Crew (2005-2006) Team Insane (2004-2005) Insane in the Airplane (2003-2004)
Casch 0 #2 September 9, 2003 That would be nice, but in the meantime, there are a few places online where you can get fairly decent overheads of just about anywhere...I'll see if I can manage to find one for ya
quade 4 #3 September 9, 2003 MapQuest -- Not too detailed, but enough to give you the basic layout. Not as colorful, but sometimes better, sometimes out of date is TerraServer.comquade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #8 September 9, 2003 I love the photo on the Elsinore site, especially the enhanced color of the student landing area. Ok, maybe it wasn't enhanced, but I wonder which month that could have possibly been taken in? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
