lucky13500 0 #1 September 10, 2003 A non-jumping co-worker told me of a fatal incident at Skydive Miami? I can't find anything on local news sites. Anyone else hear anything? It was purported to have been night-jump related earlier this week? ~ it takes a minute to live....but a second to die ~
quade 4 #2 September 10, 2003 Nothing moving on the wires yet, but as you're probably aware, sometimes the press misses things and it's not in the interest of any drop zone to contact them about such things. Usually, if the assignment desk missed it on the scanners, whoever is covering the "police blotter" will eventually pick up on the story once it has hit the coroner's office. Could be a couple of days, maybe missed altogether depending on the city and news media.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

bigjim 0 #5 September 13, 2003 Not true. I jumped there today and spoke with the DZO about this. A young lady made a low turn while on final after a night jump. She hurt her elbow and sustained a facial injury but she will make a full recovery.
