Help me choose a vector 3

Ok, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy a Vector 3. I'm pretty sure I want my vector 3 to match, or go well with, my jumpsuit. So I've narrowed down the colors. But I still can't pick a design. I put together 9 versions:

Which do you like most, and what would you change? Anyone have basic color tips for designing a rig? Anyone have a vector similar to any of the ones I designed?

By the way, on my monitor the Royal appears purple, but it's pure blue in real life.

I like #4, #2 reminds me of an alien so it is also cool. :p Is the thread orange, or is that just to contrast the two darks colors?

Nope, silver. Will probably start looking orange or at least brown after a few bad landings though.

I like #8, but I'd reverse the black and blue on the reserve side flaps and stripes - ie reserve side flaps royal blue, stripes alternating black and royal, silver piping.

Why not make most of the rig royal blue and use black, silver and smoke for accents? imho, mostly black or smoke/silver rigs are boring and conservative.

Get a new jumpsuit

Spending that much on a rig, you should not limit yourself by the jumpsuit colors, unless of course the jumpsuit is custom - to your tastes.

edit - I agree with Skybytch, the reserve side flaps are the place to make a contrast to the adjacent flaps.

Yeah I tried a few mostly royal designs and they look pretty good. Just not sure if I want to be "stuck with" so much color in case I do want a different color jumpsuit or whatever. Also resale value (not that i'm really thinking all that much about it). Black goes with anything and gray is pretty universal too. But i'll think about more royal. Any idea how it holds up as far as fading and staying clean looking?

Don't know about fading, but use the red label skotchguard - it works.

I'm not a fan of the tape being a contrasting colour to the main fabric... I had a Vector like that, and wished I had not ordered it like that. So my only recommendation is to have the tape the same colour as the rig's main colour, but of course, tastes vary....

I like 1 and 4 the best. The gray ones look too much like student rigs to me. Have you thought about different color riser covers? We just got 5 new Vector 3 staff rigs at Aggieland and I think the colored riser covers break it up a bit. The piping on the main compartment looks better than without IMHO. Also, I'm not a big fan of the extended triangle look from the center main to the pin cover as on 2, 3, 6, 7, and 9.

Nice designs for resale. I like 8. except there is no green and it's not an Odyssey. I've had this one since Nov - everyone said the neon green wouldn't work - until they saw it.

I spent about half my day at work trying more designs. I tried some mostly blue ones I really liked. I think I'll dump the ones with low votes and maybe try for another round with some more colorful designs. Fuck resale. I might even go for some embroidery! Besides, something with my name on it will be worth more some day, right?

Shouldn't YOU like the rig??
