billvon 3,107 #1 September 26, 2003 We made four jumps today, all from 16.5. Sizes were 124-125 depending on who was available. The first few were (predictably) a little hairy, but the last dive today came pretty close, with 3-4 people low and about a dozen people waiting on those people. Tomorrow we're looking at 5 jumps starting at 8:30. Plan is to get the 'base' for the 372 way first (i.e. the central 112 people with some hangers-on, to make 124) and then try for a second point. Ok. What did I miss? You guys are going for a new large formation record 372 way? How did that get by without much lead in or fanfare? Kramer 0 #6 September 26, 2003 Damn! 372-Way?! I'd to see the logistics of that. Good luck to you participating in such a thing next year. If it wasn't so far away, I'd come watch. -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

billvon 3,107 #11 September 27, 2003 Update 2 - 3 completions of the first point today, but none high enough to try for the second point. 5 jumps altogether, all from 16.5. Someone landed under a spinner after the last jump; condition unknown. An ambulance is out there.
billvon 3,107 #12 September 27, 2003 A sad update - the jumper I mentioned before didn't make it. Per Kate, it was not anyone else's fault, and there were no obvious problems during the dive. Cause is unknown. Her husband has been notified, but since I don't know if the rest of her family has I'm not going to post her name.
andy2 0 #13 September 27, 2003 oh my, condolences. At the very least she was part of some (from what it sounds like) awesome last skydives. I'm very sorry to hear this. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

loudtom 5 #15 September 27, 2003 Just read about the accident in Incidents. Very Saddddd. Condolences to the family and all of you participating. I love big ways and the people who do them and it leaves a hole in my formation when any of them leave us. loudtomtom #90 #54 #08 and now #5 with a Bronze :-)
billvon 3,107 #16 September 28, 2003 Update - 4 jumps today. We got the first point twice; on the fourth jump we came within 2 grips of the second point, and held the second point (with the two wrong grips) for ten seconds. Ironically, one of the problems was that a jumper did not _release_ a grip. Tomorrow we start at 7:30.

billvon 3,107 #18 September 29, 2003 No success on Sunday. We had a bunch of very annoying problems; a lot of 1-2 person funnels. It was aggravating to dock, sit there watching the base, and see yet another two people fall out of the formation across from me. 30 seconds into the dive and it was already over.
