jeremyneas 0 #1 October 9, 2003 Some state statutes and local ordinances regulate the creation and performance of contracts on Sundays and legal holidays. Many of these restrictions originate in religious customs and practices. In recent years, there has been a steady decline in the number of activities that are prohibited on Sundays and holidays. In a small number of jurisdictions, a contract that is made on a Sunday but is to be carried on a weekday is invalid. In some states, a Sunday agreement must be ratified on a weekday. The contract is considered retified if it is performed on a weekday or if the terms are restated on a weekday. Contracts made on a legal holiday can generally be performed on the next business day following the holiday. Any DZO's or skydiver/lawyers have anything to say about how this could potentially effect the Release of Liability Agreement for first time Sunday/Holiday jumpers? "Blue laws" are, unfortunately, very prominent in CO and are not limited to alcohol. I went car shopping on a Sunday when I first moved here. For some reason, you can not buy a car on a Sunday. quade 4 #5 October 9, 2003 QuoteIt's a very obvious law . . . Guess it depends on if it affects an individual's normal dealings in life as to what perspective they have on things. In my mind, it's pretty obscure and an archaic concept since it rarely (ever?) affects dealings in any of my business dealings. I guess in some parts of the country it's a bit more relevant. Sorry about that.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
